Gerald and Leslye Woodard started Woodard Mercantile in 1991 at the little old elevator in Maize. Seven years later they moved up the road to open the store on Maize road (4160 N Maize Road) into a new building with the desire to provide unique products in a great setting. Along the way they acquired 3 great boys: Gage, Grady and Gavin. In 2017, a second Woodard Mercantile location was opened up on the east side of Wichita in Andover (1313 E Hwy. 54 Andover) where they have extended their same friendly service & quality products to the east side of town. In August of 2020, they opened their third Woodard Mercantile location in Eureka, KS (100 N Main St. Eureka, KS) formerly known as “Flint Hills Feed & Supply” and have been happy to partner with Larry Hayes in bringing their unique shopping experience to Eureka!

We have an excellent staff who do their best to take care of the customers. While they are very knowledgeable, we can’t expect them to know everything. Many of our employees are working their way through college so you see many different faces but we take extreme pride in our employees and their abilities. Many of our employees have the same passion for raising animals, gardening, the outdoors & their pets that our customers do. That’s why you will always find friendly faces that can tell you first hand about many of the products we offer, because they are our customers as well!
